Empathy

If I could ask for one thing to be omnipresent in today’s world, it would be empathy. Somehow (maybe because of social media), this important quality is diminishing in us. I wrote this work when I was 21 years old, seeing the growing polarisation in the world. It is infuriating how black and white the world seems to some, how they can’t see others as people and reduce them to enemy chess pieces.

Empathy is like liquid beauty, the closest humans can come to being otherworldly and holy. There is no other skill I respect more in a human being. Without others, we are nothing. And music is not made for one person, but for all, by all, by communicating with each other. That’s how it began, and that’s how it will end.
