Cloud Suite is a three-movement suite for solo harp in which each movement is named after a different type of cloud: cirrus, cumulus, and stratus.

Cirrus clouds are thin, white, and feather-like clouds composed mainly of ice crystals. They are beautiful, high clouds that appear in sunny weather, yet they often foretell a change for the worse.

Cumulus clouds are the familiar cotton-like clouds everyone recognises. In their early stages, small cumulus clouds are fair-weather clouds, but they also have a darker side: they can grow and develop into rain showers and even thunderstorm clouds.

Stratus clouds resemble fog but do not reach the ground, except along mountain slopes. I imagine them as something “warm” yet sad, as if a memory of the past you can never quite explain to someone.

You are free to play this piece, in full or in part. The sheet music is free to download and share.
