FROM THE COLLECTION: “THROUGH THE PRISM WE ARE”

2. Blue (Sorrow, Adulthood and Wisdom)

This is my solo work for violin that is very dear to me. Adulthood is a time of letting go, feeling new kinds of complex sorrows and pains, but getting wiser for it. It is the longest period in our lives – and one that I cherish.

Description of the whole work:

“It’s about us – and our lives. A prism breaks light into different colours. I think people are like that too. From the outside, we might seem simple, but inside, each of us holds a whole spectrum of memories, emotions, and versions of who we’ve been. You’d only see them by looking at us through a kind of human prism.

The piece has 3 solo parts: flute (yellow), violin (blue), and contrabass (red). Each one reflects a different stage of life and its emotional world.

In the final, fourth part, all three instruments come together – as we do in the end, when the colours of our lives blend into one.”

1. Yellow (for solo Flute)
2. Blue (for solo Violin)
3. Red (for solo Contrabass) and
4. Through the Prism We Are (for Flute, Violin and Contrabass).
